Here is another Friday 10-second tip for you to enjoy…

It’s Friday the 13th today, which is a traditionally very unlucky day for many…

So let’s ward off any evil, beat the curse of this ghastly day, and turn any bad luck into good luck…

One way to do this is to:

Avoid these three cursed issues!

If you’ve ever seen any horror movie such as Friday the 13th, Scream, Saw, or anything like that, you’ll know many of the “side” characters end up “meeting their maker” after making bad decisions.

Like for instance, going back to where the villain is, not escaping while they can, or thinking they can beat him.

Well, don’t be the guitarist who makes bad decisions like that.

A lot of guitarists make one or more of these three mistakes:

#1 – Hopping from song to song, never really committing to any single one. This often means struggling for months or years without any songs to show for it.

#2 – Never putting in the time in the early days to play with proper technique (which leads to bad habits later on). If this is you, I urge you to fix this as soon as you can.

#3 – Playing a guitar that is just not suitable for you. Instead of going out and trying some new guitars, they struggle with the one they have for way too long.

Those are just a few things I’ve seen over the years.

Avoid all that and don’t be the side character like in these movies I mentioned.

Instead, be the hero, prioritise yourself and your playing, and avoid those three issues mentioned above like the plague.

Do that and you will start to enjoy the guitar more and more every single day.

Speaking of the number 13…

P.S. Here are a few highlights from the 13 Ways to Escape the Acoustic Asylum book:

How to play a stunning arrangement of “Scarborough Fair”, which requires no chords or tough stretches (I’ve never taught this arrangement anywhere else before).

A super fun and easy-to-play blues riff you can learn in minutes without tearing your hair out!

Why it’s essential to use the key elements of classical technique, even if you only ever want to learn non-classical songs.

A super fun and famous melody that has been used in countless dramatic movie scenes (and even cartoons) over the years and is great fun to play.

A super useful exercise inspired by Clapton, Knopfler, and Gilmour that will end the most frustrating mistake beginners struggle with.

A message to “de-code” from the “Gatekeeper”, which is a fun way of testing your guitar skills (get a prize for un-coding this).

…Plus more, including why the “first rule” of the Acoustic Asylum is key to increasing your motivation, how to avoid the deadly mistake most people make when learning songs, and the 13th tip, which will help you see real progress every single day.

The 13 lessons in the book are a mix of old and new from me.

If you have my other books and courses, you may see a little crossover between the lessons in this book and those, but that is a good thing in many ways…That’s because having frequent reminders of the basics is important to your success (plus the new stuff in this book is a lot of fun).

Get this until tomorrow night, only here:
