It’s Friday the 13th today, which is a traditionally very unlucky day for many…
So let’s ward off any evil, beat the curse of this ghastly day, and turn any bad luck into good luck…
One way to do this is to:
Avoid these three cursed issues!
If you’ve ever seen any horror movie such as Friday the 13th, Scream, Saw, or anything like that, you’ll know many of the “side” characters end up “meeting their maker” after making bad decisions.
Like for instance, going back to where the villain is, not escaping while they can, or thinking they can beat him.
Well, don’t be the guitarist who makes bad decisions like that.
A lot of guitarists make one or more of these three mistakes:
#1 – Hopping from song to song, never really committing to any single one. This often means struggling for months or years without any songs to show for it.
#2 – Never putting in the time in the early days to play with proper technique (which leads to bad habits later on). If this is you, I urge you to fix this as soon as you can.
#3 – Playing a guitar that is just not suitable for you. Instead of going out and trying some new guitars, they struggle with the one they have for way too long.
Those are just a few things I’ve seen over the years.
Avoid all that and don’t be the side character like in these movies I mentioned.
Instead, be the hero, prioritise yourself and your playing, and avoid those three issues mentioned above like the plague.
Do that and you will start to enjoy the guitar more and more every single day.
