Learning, playing, and improving your guitar skills can certainly be an ‘up and down’ experience.

Some days you may feel on top of the world and other days like you’ve got no “talent” whatsoever.

If you do feel that way, it is natural.

I was there myself for sure – many times.

I’ve created a humorous little image which has been doing the rounds on Facebook and which you can check out below…

If you can’t see the image in this post, you can check it out HERE.

The content of this image is obviously exaggerated a touch (but maybe not all that much, haha).

Now, some people are great at being ‘measured’ and not getting too high when the going is good and not being too low when things are tough…

…But if you ever feel the ups and downs, here’s a little reminder to be kind to yourself when you practise.

If you make mistakes, try to accept them, and work out what the specific technical issue is that’s causing them (there is always a technical issue or two that can be fixed).

…And be kind to yourself.

That little whispering voice in your head can be encouraging, but it can be a mean little soul too.

So, never forget to praise yourself when you do something well.

This is important to mention as although the journey of learning guitar is a wonderful one, filled with delightful discoveries, it can be tough sometimes.

I hope you liked the image, and hopefully, these words were helpful to you.

On a slightly unrelated note, don’t forget you can get my barre chords course for a couple more days with a big discount.

Barre chords can cause a huge amount of frustration on the guitar, especially for the beginner who is past the basics and is ready for the next level.

Well, don’t give up on them if you’ve tried them before.

Anyway, I don’t put this course on sale all that often, so if barre chords are something you want to truly master (this course leaves no stone unturned), then you can check it out below.

Remember, those who never give up the guitar, ultimately succeed…
