A Brief History of Guitar Domination

June 2000
Started playing guitar at age 15. Discovered music for the first time and got hooked on artists such as Nirvana, James Taylor, R.E.M…But I struggled to play guitar big time. My early struggles started me off on the path to helping others avoid the same mistakes I made.
November 2002
Joined my first band. After a few years of struggling, I was finally putting the pieces of the guitar-playing jigsaw together and started playing with a band. This made playing the guitar even more fun and led to many wonderful experiences.
October 2009
Taught my first guitar lesson. I was working as a CAD engineer and enjoyed it, but the guitar was my real passion. So I started teaching others, which led me to the path of where I am now.
August 2013
Left my job to become a full-time guitar tutor. I created this blog, got certified with the Registry of Guitar Tutors, and learned a crazy amount about teaching adult beginner guitarists in a super short space of time.
July 2020
Released my best-selling Fingerstyle 101 book, which has gone on to sell over 20,000 copies (so far) and has hundreds of 5-star ratings and reviews on Amazon.
Present
Consistently trying to re-invent the world of guitar tuition making lessons clearer, techniques easier, and guitar playing more enjoyable – especially for adult beginner and intermediate guitarists! 🙂
