Just watch how comedians such as Demetri Martin uses his guitar as a tool to tell stories and use his passive aggressive, witty comedy to observe on things in life in general and others such as Bill Bailey makes a point about U2 which many of thought had previously thought, but here he turns that idea into a piece of classic comedy.

The Dana Carvey piece is worth watching alone for the Bob Dylan and Neil Young impressions right at the beginning of the clip. You can just tell he loves music with a passion not just from his genius character of Garth in Wayne’s World, but for his great impressions shown here. Even though this comedy and it’s meant to be light hearted you can still learn a thing or two from these guys. Just watch Rob Paravonian’s rant about Pachelbel’s Canon to see what I mean.

Stand up comedians have always made genuinely funny observations about society, life and the universe that most others never really ever consider never think of. The fact that these guys do so with a guitar is a great bonus and a treat for all of us guitarists.
