Funny story.
Last week, Archie was at his mum’s and I gave him a quick video call to say “goodnight” to him.
On his screen, he saw my new lighting setup, ring light, and LED light behind me that I’m using for an exciting bunch of video lessons I’m filming.
Archie was excited.
As he was with his mum’s family, he shouts “Everyone, my dad is on TikTok”.
That got a good laugh (especially from me).
I mean, TikTok is usually associated with teenagers, silly dances, and random funny stuff.
Well, now I’ve joined that party.
I doubt I’ll be doing silly dances (but I will hopefully entertain).
And not only am I on TikTok but also Instagram too.
Why?
Well, I enjoy filming videos and the super short videos I’m releasing on social media are lots of fun.
…But most importantly, they contain very cool quick lessons that will help you right away.
Here are just some of the videos I’ve released over the last week since starting.
- Two Chords, One Technique! A new style video where I showcase how to play some simple fingerstyle blues on two chords, I share the core technique that is the glue behind it, and how you can get started with this style right away.
- Guitar Recipes – An unusual style lesson where I take a few guitar-playing “ingredients” and put them together to make a tasty little guitar piece – comes with TAB and tips on how to play it (for fun I’ve even filmed these videos in my kitchen!)
- And I’ve also created videos which will help you improve your self-belief, I share my #1 rule for learning guitar, and give you 5 simple ways to increase your motivation.
- Plus, in the next few days, there will be videos on spicing up a typical A minor chord, an exciting new “Guitar Recipe”, and a quick tip on improving your memory.
If you’re new to my way of teaching…
You’ll enjoy these free videos and learn a fair bit.
…And if you’ve been with me for a long time, you’ll get a lot of powerful reminders from these.
Either way, if you enjoy reading my emails, you don’t want to miss these videos.
They’re all less than one minute long and, hopefully, each will inspire you.
If you want to check them out, you can follow me on the new TikTok and Instagram channels below:
If you prefer Facebook where I’ve already posted a lot over the last year or so, you can follow me there too.
I’ll probably be sharing unique content on each channel too at some point soon, so you may want to “like” me on more than one.
Mostly though, if you do enjoy the videos, I’d love it if you could comment on them and share them.
Even though they’re short, the videos take time to prepare, cost to edit (the editor I hired is great but not cheap), and energy to promote.
…But I’m making a promise to release one video per day for the rest of June.
If these channels build up and there is enough traction of followers and shares, etc., I’ll keep creating them from July and beyond.
I hope you enjoy them and keep being inspired!
