I love technology.

It’s great until it breaks.

Well, last night a number of you on the email list replied to tell me there was a technical glitch.

Some of you got multiple copies of the same email.

I just wanted to say sorry about that!

There is nothing worse than technology getting in the way and causing issues like this.

The email sent was a “welcome” email that was only meant to go out to those who join the free email list for the first time.

Just to be clear for anyone in doubt, the email was not referring to the Dan Thorpe Acoustic Academy, so if you’re a member or a former member, nothing changes there. If you’re a former DTAA member, again, nothing has changed and you won’t suddenly be getting charged or anything like that. As I said, that email was purely for those who join the free email list and had nothing to do with the DTAA.

Anyway, this was super annoying.

I absolutely value you being a member of this list and I love writing the emails… but sending you multiple copies of the same email… that is definitely NOT intentional!

The reason why this happened is, of course, a technical glitch.

…Basically, it happened because we’ve made a few tweaks to the email client and, as is often the case, these things can cause temporary bugs. It just so happens that for some this temporary bug was a bad little one that was like a barrage of diminished 7th chords when you just want to hear the lovely sounds of a happy Major 7th chord.

I do not take your being on my email list lightly, so please accept my apologies.

Anyway, that being said, let’s flip the script and make this positive.

Lately, I’ve been working on something fun for anyone who joins my email list.

That is… I’ve been writing two short eBooks.

I was going to release these for you in the next week or two, as this is a busy week already and they’re not quite finished.

…But as an apology, I’ve been hammering away to get these finished and want you to get them as soon as they are ready instead of waiting.

One of the eBooks is a mini songbook, and the other is a book full of 35 technical fixes everyone should know.

…And you’ll get them both as a gift.

The eBooks are not quite ready yet, but they will be either tomorrow or Wednesday.

They are titled The Guitar Doctor and The Super Mini Songbook.

They are both super fun…so stay tuned for an email about these.

If you like my lessons, I think you will love both of these.

P.S. Naturally, I’m getting more email replies than usual at the moment, so I’m going to be online for the next few hours. While I am here, I’d love to know…

What is your biggest guitar-playing hurdle right now?

Email me and let me know.

I’ll be recording some more social media videos this week addressing these specific issues and, in the meantime, if I have any lessons on my blog on that subject, I’ll point you in the right direction and if not, I’ll give you a few tips, and if you reply later on, and I’m not online, I’ll get back to you tomorrow.

P.P.S. Thanks again for being a member and my apologies for any confusion with the emails.

P.P.P.S. This post was originally taken from Dan Thorpe’s private email list. To get blog posts like this sent to you which are full of great tips to make fingerpicking, strumming, and learning guitar more enjoyable (especially if you are over 40) join Dan’s list. It’s 100% free, HERE.
