Here is another weekly 10-second tip.

 

Develop your fretting hand’s pinkie

 

Many guitarists wonder why their pinkie is so weak.

I know I used to.

A lack of use is the main reason.

If you use it more it will get stronger.

 

Think about different ways you can use your pinkie more.

You can add it to chords for embellishments, use it in scales, and…

Even play riffs and melodies fretting every note with only the pinkie (obviously just for practice though).

 

Be creative and you will find the pinkie can be used more. This goes for when practising methodically and when playing songs you love too.

Keep working the pinkie and it will get stronger and nimbler.
