Here is another Friday 10-second tip for you to enjoy.
It’s all about…
Using the fretboard markers!
The “fretboard markers” can be incredibly useful.
These are located on frets 3, 5, 7, 9, 12.
The thing is, some people don’t use them all that much.
Yet, they can save us time and stop us from needing to count up the fretboard to find specific frets.
For example, if you’re looking for fret 5, don’t count up from fret 1.
That’s inefficient.
Instead, look for the 2nd marker dot (located on fret 5) …
…And voila, you’ve instantly found fret 5 without needing to count the frets.
It’s well worth learning where these dots are by heart if you don’t already know them.
Of course, that’s a simple tip, but remember you can always take one thing on the guitar and use it for other things…
For instance, you could turbocharge what I’ve mentioned above and do this…
Learn what all the notes are where there is a marker dot on the fretboard!
