I love SikTh, and so do most people. The legendary matchcore/progressive metal outfit have reformed in 2014 much to the delight of pretty much every metal guitarist across the globe. Yes, there are some who don’t like or quite get the band, but more often than not they haven’t sat down and gave classic records such as The Trees Are Dead & Dried Out Wait for Something Wild and Death of a Dead Day a listen.
I absolutely love both albums and pretty much remember my jaw dropping the first time I heard “Scent of the Obscene”. What a tune. It is full of great hooks, a powerful chorus and that killer intro.
SikTh have pretty much influenced every one of their progressive metal contemporaries since the days they were first about. Bands such as Periphery, Tesseract, Intervals and many, many more owe a huge amount to the guys from Hertfordshire.
