Just a quick heads-up.

The sale for my brand-new mini masterclass will be ending soon.

This is what Theresa emailed me to say about it yesterday:

“Hi Dan,

In the 60s, I learned one fingerpicking pattern and have used it since then very sloppily.

Starting over with your basic course, beginning with Tom Dooley, is exactly what I needed to slow down and be more controlled and deliberate in my playing.

The clarity and repetition in how you build the bass and melody into the full tune is really giving me what I hoped in a guitar course. I’m looking forward to a new level of playing.

Thanks for your commitment to helping folks like me.”

Super pleased to hear it.

If you too want to Travis pick a fun song, be like a “one-man/woman band”, and learn these techniques in a methodical step-by-step way, then this might be for you.

…If you like structure (and let’s face it, who doesn’t) you will enjoy it.

It is not a long course, but rather it is short and focused and there are 3 parts to it.

  • Part 1 will teach you all the fundamentals (the bassline, the melody, and the all-important techniques)
  • Part 2 is all about how to play the lovely solo fingerstyle arrangement in a very steady and methodical way
  • Part 3 will show you a few simple ways to sing and strum/fingerpick the song

The course requires focus, and if you have that, the lessons inside will certainly allow new doors to open up in your playing…

…Particularly if you have ever felt jaded or overwhelmed by the endless lessons out there or non-stop song tutorials on YouTube.

Plus, it is a fun tune to play.

The bottom line is this:

If you get it and use it methodically, you will improve your playing, confidence, and technique… all while adding a great song to your repertoire.

I hope you enjoy it if you give it a go!

P.S. The sale will end at midnight Pacific Daylight Time which is 8 am UK time tomorrow morning (when I get up).

Until then, the price is $27.

If you see it go up to $77, that means I am up and out of bed and the sale is over.

I am seventy one years old. I used to play thirty eight years ago. I mostly played cowboy chords.

Four years ago I almost lost my left thumb. As a result, that hand is pretty weak. And, my thumb is stiff and tingly.

I am determined to play again, and take myself far beyond where I was those many years ago. I’ve never had lessons and am interested in your Tom Dooley lesson. Is this something that I can manage?
